Every Tuesday night once daylight begins to wane we commence our turbo sessions held at Cranbrook Rugby Club in the clubhouse. These are coached sessions designed to assist with a variety of needs - VO2 max, strength, endurance, cadence. Ideally you will have your own bike; we can loan a turbo for the evening. It gets warm doing these and a towel and drink are a must! No excuse for bad weather putting a halt on training!
Once the daylight extends we start to ride on the road in the evening setting out from the lower car park of Cranbrook Rugby Club. The rides are broken down into groups based upon the participants speed and are led by a Coach or a British Triathlon Federation Activator. Distances vary but invariably it is a 1hr ride returning to the car park. Again, your own bike is ideally required and also we recommend you carry a spare inner tube, levers and pump/CO2 cannister.
Throughout the year we have a hardy bunch that ride on a Sunday regardless of the weather. We meet at the Weald Sports Centre carpark generally from 730am-830am and set off. Again, the ride is split into groups dependant on speed and participants time availability. Rides can be 1-3hrs long and when the weather is nice, we end up at the coast enjoying recovery ice cream! All in the name of recovery of course.
